Our Story
Caring for Brooklyn since 1995
Vision Palace Optical opened its doors at 1723 Avenue U in 1995with a straightforward mission: provide thorough, honest eye care at a neighborhood practice where patients feel known — not processed. Three decades later, that mission hasn't changed.
We serve patients of all ages, from children's first eye exams (ages 6 and up) through complex ocular disease management for older adults. Our doctors stay current with the latest diagnostic technology and lens innovations — including Stellest myopia control lenses for children and advanced progressive lens designs — so our patients always have access to the best options available.
As a multilingual practice, we provide care in English, Spanish, and Russian, serving the diverse communities of southern Brooklyn. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, EyeMed, MetroPlus, UFT, Fidelis Care, 1199SEIU, and most major vision plans.

Dr. Julia Sheyko
Julia Sheyko is a highly capable and dedicated optometrist based in Brooklyn, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Science in optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry and completed her doctoral training there in 2013. Dr. Sheyko specializes in anterior and posterior segment disease, neurological eye disease, and pre- and post-operative care. She offers comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and ocular disease management, including treatment of glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. She is certified in Paragon CRT and is fluent in English and Russian.

Dr. Alexander Shlivko
Dr. Alexander Shlivko earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in 2020. He provides comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management — including glaucoma screening and retinal conditions — at Vision Palace Optical. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian, Dr. Shlivko serves patients of all ages across Sheepshead Bay, Brighton Beach, and greater Brooklyn.
